I've installed a browser extension that hides comments on youtube. It's worth its proverbial weight in gold.

Sounds tempting, but I'd still be tempted to look (I can resist everything except temptation).

I do sometimes still look, but it involves having to change a setting and reload the page, so most of the time I find it's not important enough that I can be bothered.
