I was lucky enough to be able to go visit the Doulton flock of Border Leicesters on Sunday, which is local to me. Ellie was kind enough to pick me up too. The photobucket album is here, but there are some v. big photos under the cut:

This is Hugh. More milk went on my jeans and Hugh's face, ears, and back than went in his mouth. I love Hugh.

I washed Manny's yesterday and did the final rinse today, so it's drying right now. Cleanest fleece I've ever washed, and so boofy!

And earlier I poured some resin charms and some cold-cast iron shawl pins, photos later though because tired.

Thanks! I've got about 400g in total (100g each from Manny and Sally, who're both white, and 200g from Rosie, who's cream), so that should be enough to put something together. I've not spun Border Leicester before, but apparently it's similar to Blue Faced Leicester, so the shearlings (Sally and Rosie) should be next-to-skin soft. TBH, I think Manny's might be as well, from the feel, even though he's a four year old ram. It's beautiful fleece; Ellie breeds with handspinners in mind, which is very unusual.
