I have not been good about posting again. In my defense, we were without T'interwebs for a bit because Sky are crap (they sent an engineer to change us to fibre, he borked it, and they were like 'too bad, so sad', so I mad).
In general news: I've sorted out my Nano thingy for this year, same username. Now I need to just not have a complete disaster, like I have every other year.
I really need to do a list of books I'm reading or have finished, or something, or maybe a weekly post about readin and watching. At the moment it's Water Ways, by Jasper Winn, because I'm still on my canal/narrowboating deep dive. I had no idea that the lock gate design we're still commonly using was designed by Leonardo da Vinci. I'm also fascinated by the eco-friendliness among the people who live aboard their narrowboats - like, because they have to be hyper-aware of what goes in and out of the boat they seem very open to anything that can extend their resources; seeing how adaptable people are gives me hope for the future. And it's little things too, like hybrid cars are all tied up in weird politics, but hybrid narrowboats are a thing, and there's genuine excitement from everyone but the purists - your mpg will skyrocket because you can switch to electric in locks! No fumes in tunnels! You can set off early without waking your neighbours! You can run a washing machine!!!
Something I really miss is the challenge comms from LJ - I like bingos, but I never seem to be able to hit deadline, and the old challenge comms meant I could go at my own pace. I'm tempted to set one up, even if I'm the only member of it, lol.
