Prompt: Classic Princess/Song of Ice and Fire

The roving I'm using for both the Classic Princess square on my bingo card, and for the Song of Ice and Fire challenge at Spindlers, arrived. It's 50/50 Wensleydale/silk, so I'm going to try spinning it laceweight - especially since I'm figuring out lace knitting right now. The lustre is amazing.



The colourway is called "Joffrey's Pride" (hence using it for the ASoIF challenge), and I think the colourway suits 'princess' pretty well - golden hair and purple/pink dress, yes? I've started spinning it on my Ashford lace spindle, but it was too dark for photos so maybe tomorrow.

So apparently my ice resin is out of date, and I'll need to remake the dandelion seeds item.



The rest turned out okay with clear-cast though (bag holder is blacked out because my nephews)



The bag holder is for my mum, and also covers the 'jumping in puddles' prompt as that's what they'd just been doing before I took the photo (I was so happy to get that one on my card). The bee is for the 'high queen' prompt, but not finished yet. The two pendants are for the 'Fair Folk' prompt, and the fish was just an experiment with a previously made charm and a new shawl pin finding - a successful experiment, so there may be more along those lines.

I dried an ivy leaf, and then used a craft punch to cut out a tiny leaf, and embedded that in a silver frame. Very elfy, I think.

I also cast on and knitted a few inches of mum's cowl today, because I have done all the things. Using for the 'mermaid' prompt:

Completed Prompt: Jumping in a Puddle

Blacked out because nephews - the picture was taken just after they'd been jumping in the puddles near the beck. Set into a bag holder blank. I cocked it up a bit, hence the foggy effect around the edge, but there's a third nephew on the way so I'll probably be replacing it in a couple of months anyway.

I may or may not fire up the dye-bath later.

Things I should do: knit this cowl for mum, since I have to have it ready for her going away rather than for her birthday.

Things I want to do: either get out the dye-pot or the polymer clay.

What's more High Queen than a queen bee?



Bottle cap with resin-set image, finished with a swarovski rondelle and silver bee charm (and an organza necklace in 'honey'). I may change out the rondelle for a champagne AB one, if I can find them, but I'm not sure which will look better.

Have also been knitting and spinning today; too much pain to nap.
